Integrated AEC Studio//WI 16
This studio teaches BIM-based collaboration between architecture, engineering, and construction. Students will design a mid-rise office building on the site of a recently completely building at 34th and Stone Way in Seattle. The current building sets the bar for performance in the categories of urban design, spatial and structural ingenuity, program distribution, energy efficiency and cost. The challenge will be to design with mass timber rather than concrete, and try to leverage that difference into a better performance value in as many ways as possible.
