Course Description

Tales of Tieton: Process, Narrative, Representation
The Cook, The Oracle, The Samaritan, & The Collector

For the final project, students will author (design) an architectural story and for the final presentation, they will tell this story through drawings and models. The characters in students’ stories, both the buildings and the people that inhabit them, will be influenced by and will develop out of a brief visit to the town of Tieton, WA. This studio is about how buildings, and the ways they’re represented, are capable of telling stories. While writers tell stories through words, architects tell them through drawings and models.
